Job Description

Strategise and ensure implementation of VM aspects in the territory as per the standards of the display.

- Managing others to maximize visual merchandising standards
- Formulate methods of customer service through creative and innovative visual merchandising methods
- Ensure visual merchandising tasks are delegated appropriately in accordance with VM skills and abilities
- Consistently ensure showrooms are frequently visited and monitored to maintain visual merchandising standards, Plannograms are followed, Visual hits are appropriate, the windows are as per the theme and standards & furniture packs are in place.
- Develop and train the visual merchandising team on merchandising standards & Skills, interior design, space planning and store layout and other visual merchandising techniques
- Ensure all new visual merchandising staff are appraised in line with company guidelines after completing their probationary period
- Maintain strict levels of confidentiality with regard to all areas of the business, particularly commercial information and personal details of employees
- Ensure visual merchandising expectations and priorities are communicated to staff
- Regularly review and provide feedback on staff's performance against expectations
- Carry out regular and relevant training with the visual merchandising team and VM Concept team and the store teams.
- Ensure a regular visual merchandising staff meetings are carried out to communicate goals and training delivered
- To ensure VM teams in each store keep an up-to-date reference book or look book of images of visual merchandised areas for high maintenance, especially after a sale or promotion
- To ensure all store visual merchandising implementation photos are uploaded onto concerned website on a regular basis.
- Ensure that all floor walk points are completed by the VMs in the required time and all vms and self are part of the daily floor walks.
- Ensure that the weekly work schedule of the VMs is monitored and the staff are effectively contributing to the showroom upkeep.
- Planning and managing tasks to minimize expenditure and maximize productivity
- Ensure all VMs within store are fully equipped with all VM tools and tool boxes to effectively conduct their duties
- As far as store re-merchandising is concerned, regularly consult VM Concept for advice before proceeding with major store movements that could compromise visual merchandising presentation and commerciality
- Ensure that plans for promotions are in place, using all relevant information and resources
- To manage customer visits of visual merchandising team which needs to be consulted prior by the store managers. Such tasks are to be minimized and managed by the VM Manager as it affects VM operations and productivity in store
- Complete a monthly report and submit to the Showroom Manager and VM concept on activities of the previous month, action taken, visits taken and include set objectives for the month ahead

- Ensure the merchandise used for display in furniture or windows etc is returned back properly with original packing for the merchandise to be sold.
- Ensure room paints are properly kept and the showroom painting is taken care off.
- Ensure all props are properly kept and reused effectively.
- Ensure all NTG is properly maintained and not abused or misused by the showrooms.
- Ensure that all HC processes and SOPs are adhered at all times.
- Managing self to maximize sales
- Ensure all employees of the company are treated with respect and courtesy
- Ensure VM staff fully understands merchandising priorities, goals and activities
- Provide feedback and commercial information to the Retail Operations Manager / VM Concept including provision of regular reports, VM audits
- Monitor and report findings and recommendations that pertain to visual merchandising
- Attend and contribute to management meetings and team building exercises as required
- Ensure a positive attitude is maintained even when under pressure
- Ensure own learning and development needs are identified and utilize available resources for professional and self development
